Happy Friday Reader!
If you have a lead magnet, please don't overlook the hidden value of the "Thank You" page. And I am not talking about sales!
For clarity, the "Thank You Page" is the page that loads after someone registers for your lead magnet.
I often see two main problems with the lead magnet thank you page:
- zero customization and leaving it to a generic system-generated message like: "thanks! you've submitted the form".

- adding in upsells and one time offers that repel your audience.

Here's what you can do instead -
Amplify Your Credibility (Without the Upsell)
While many funnel strategies lean heavily on upsells or one-time offers after registration for the lead magnet, I actually advocate for a different approach, especially since -
People are taking a much longer time to buy. They see a sales page too quickly and head in the opposite direction, maybe even unsubscribing within minutes!
Instead of risking pushing people away by moving too quickly into a sale -
Focus on building your audience and nurturing those relationships first.
Take this as an opportunity to SURPRISE & DELIGHT your new audience member.
Here’s how you can use your "Thank You" page to do just that:
- Offer Complementary Training: Feature a free surprise training session that enhances your lead magnet.

- Invite to Exclusive Communities: Use this space to extend an invitation to your Facebook group, LinkedIn community, or any platform where your audience can engage deeper with you & your content.

- Highlight Your Podcast or Blog: If you run a podcast or maintain a blog, this is the perfect moment to guide your new leads to these resources. Consider highlighting specific posts or episodes related to the lead magnet topic.

- Invite to an upcoming event: If you have a free launch event, use your thank you page to feature your upcoming event and encourage sign-ups!

- Invite them to engage with you personally: Whether it is popping into your DMs, sending a connection request, recording a video response to you, or having a Voxer conversation.

- Set Clear Expectations: Clearly communicate what they can expect next – be it a series of emails, immediate access to their lead magnet, or something else.

Why This Approach?
Opting out of a sales-heavy "Thank You" page allows for a shorter, high-value lead funnel that respects your audience’s journey and emphasizes quality engagement over quick sales.
It’s a strategy that may not require a hefty ad budget or a large flow of leads.
This method aligns with a philosophy of relationship building.
It’s about preparing your audience for more significant, launch-focused events where the real magic happens.
By then, they’re not just leads; they’re fans who trust and value your insight.
Remember, every touchpoint with your audience - including the "Thank You" page - is a chance to reinforce your brand’s value and nurture a lasting relationship. Let’s make it count!
